Palm Village Guestbook

We loved our weekend stay at Palm Village. The atmosphere was wonderful and the staff did a wonderful job helping to organize our Angkor Wat experience. We always recommend Palm Village when friends are looking for a perfect place to stay in Siem Reap!

This is a very unusual hotel. He does not like the hotel in the usual sense. When we stopped there, I was initially confused by the simplicity of the room for the first, but later I was sorry to leave this nice hotel!

There is home atmosphere here: very nice garden, cozy bungalows. The hotel is located far from urban noise on the outskirts of Siem Reap (near Angkor area). And also inside the hotel is always quiet and calm, it was very inportant for us.

You feel that you have settled in the picturesque countryside, but you have all the conveniences of civilization. Sometimes we heard a quiet Buddhist music, because the teple is somewhere on the next street. This quiet music from the temple adds color to our trip.

We loved to have our dinner on our private balcony or near the pool, in was nice romantic intimate dinners. They have two menus: the ordinary Khmer dishes (they cooked something delicious and very fast) and exclusive dishes, which to be ordered in a couple of hours - their chef cooks perfectly! Everything is very tasty and fresh (I have very poor health, but I never used the enzyme tablets in their restaraunt).

The staff is very attentive, they are very pleasant people to communicate. Of the deficiencies I have noted that there was no hairdryer and kettle in the room, but we should remember that it is not an expencive hotel. So I think it would be easy for you to take the necessary things from your home. I am afraid that in a couple of years they will have to change the air-conditioners and water heaters, but don't worry: equepment works normally.

In the front of the hotel is a typical country road with the bump, but it was also very colorful. Not far from the hotel will be the new road covered with asphalt, and it will be very convenient.

Despite minor shortcomings, I am very glad that we stayed in this hotel. I think I would not be able to have anywhere else both relax and rest after vigorous excursions like in nice Palm Village Resort. Sorry for my poor English.

Heaven on Earth!!
As everyone says here, the garden setting is beautiful & Pool is nice & Bungalow is so cute. There is an "outlook" back of the massage area. The view from the outlook was just breath taking!!! You can see miles away.

Most of all, my husband & I LOVED staff who works at the Palm village. They became our second family. They work SO hard to please us. True Cambodian hospitality!!!

We tried 4-hands massage.... Oh~, my heaven!!! the BEST massage we ever had!! This treatment will cost us 20 times or more back home!!! We had to give them big tip!!! They totally took good care of us. PLEASE try this wonderful massage experience.

The breakfast of your choice was GREAT!!! We tried everything from fruit to eggs. We loved ginger flavor chicken porridge (rice soup) . And we really enjoyed the pumpkin soup for lunch & dinner. Those soups were better than 5 star restaurant's!!!

We ate 3 meals a day at this hotel's restaurant. Because food and service was so good, we didn't want to go anywhere else. I really want EVERYONE to experience this wonderful hotel "Palm village". I get tears in my eyes for just thinking about how sweet they where. Miss them so much!!!

Took us over 30 hours to get there from where we live, but we love to go back there someday to experience the true Cambodian hospitality again!!! And that has to be at the Palm Village.....

We are having a wonderful stay here at Palm Village. The staff are fantastic, the food is lovely and the environment is a tonic for the spirit. And the $9 full-body massages are not bad, either!

We stayed in Palm Village for two weeks and can only say that really enjoyed with every day which spent there. Our choice was was wise because Siem Reap is quite dusty and loud town. Having made tour amongst the temples you will need a peaceful corner. :-) Staff was very kind and full of hospitality. We regret that our vacations have been completed and will miss about those days.

"... Fantastic, Palm Village was such a great experience, located just outside of the city (3 dollars usd to get into town). The staff were the friendliest we experienced in all 5 weeks we traveled, never once did we pass one of the staff without receiving a huge smile!

The huts were great, well above what we expected for the price that is charged, very very reasonable! Breakfast was great and the dinner was also very very good! Staying just outside of the city you get a better feel for real life in this country, Cambodia has changed my life forever and would recommend this hotel to everyone!"

"I stayed at the Palm Village during my two month study abroad trip in Cambodia that lasted from June 6th until July 21st. Although our group was relatively large given the size of the villa, I believed that staff did a wonderful job to accommodate our needs and provided very quality service.

The staff were very sweet and did a good job memorizing our breakfast orders. The rooms were very clean. The showers are large and the pool was great. If you stay here, you must rent a bike. Bike riding through the countryside was one of the happiest days of my life. You must try the pancakes with the Cambodian honey/syrup! I loved the Palm Village and when I return to Angkor Wat, I will most definitely stay here again."

"Just returned 4/1/08 after staying at Palm Village for 5 days. It was beautiful and the staff was wonderful. Our bungalow was perfect as the food was also. I couldn't think of staying anywhere else except there. Pure tranqulity with lovely gentle people."

- Karen Lewis, USA

"My wife and I stayed here late Dec 2007 for our honeymoon. It was perfect! The people here are super nice, it was away from the main tourist strip yet close to Angkor Wat. They organized a very knowledgeable and fun guide to introduce us to the Wats. The food was amazing using produce fresh from their gardens. And we enjoyed the best massages ever every night. Life couldn't get much better:)

Thanks again to everyone at Palm Village for making our honeymoon special."

- Imran Akbari, USA

"Palm Village couldn't have been better. The food was authentic and the young man that served our meals was so nice to us, as was everyone who works there. The accommodations were great, I loved the tower for watching sunsets and drinking Angkor Beer.

Our driver Louie and guide Vanny were great, they knew so much about Cambodia's history and were happy to share it with us. We will certainly ask for them when we return, and recommend you do so as well. We are forever indebted to them for their kindness and generosity.

Thank you for making our honeymoon so beautiful, we can't wait to come back."

"My stay in Palm Village was one of the most memorable part of my vacation in Siem Reap. Its isolated location made a perfect getaway from all the busy streets and wats/temples. I very much enjoyed my cozy bungalow with its glass ceiling bathroom. And now that I am back in California, I reminisce about how peaceful it was to float in the pool at night (in the dark) and watch all the stars twinkle in the sky, and how rejuvenating it felt every morning see the beautiful flowers bloom outside my porch. To top it all, the staff were kind, pleasant, and accomodating. Such a wonderful experience--thank you.

Date of stay: September 13-19, 2007."

"My husband and I stayed in palm village for 7 days and we are happy that we have made the right choice. All the staff there always make us so welcome and we feel like at home. Although the place is a bit out of town but it is the peacefullness that will embrace you whole day. If anyone are looking for a place to relax and take things easy, then palm village is definately your best choice."

- Fion Kong, Singapore

"Em and the staff at Palm Village were wonderful. We would also like to thank our driver Kim for all of his expertise and local knowledge. He was a great guide for our Cambodia experience. The villas were very homey and the locale was exotic. I highly recommend the Palm Village for any Siem Reap visitors."

"The time in Cambodia, was the best time I've ever had in life. Thanks for your hospitalitiy. Especially I want to thank you for the Khmer Tea you gave me to enjoy it at home!!! You have offered the best breakfast ;)and even the accomodation surrounded by this wonderful garden was very impressive! We want to thank you for making our stop in Siem Reap an exiting and pleasant one."

- Carina Pimpel, Austria

May Lord bless you with the best in life."

"Hi! Thank you very much for everything. The cottages were lovely and comfortable, breakfast was delicious (I especially love chicken porridge). I wished we could have tried your Khmer dinner. I love the beautiful flowers around our cottages...

I wish we could spend more time at Palm Village. Thank you very much. Hope to visit you again in the near future!"

"We were searching for accommodation with reasonable rates and a swimming pool as we were travelling with kids, and found Palm Village after reading good reviews from travel forums (both Virtual Tourist and Lonely Planet Thorn Tree).

Our 6D/5N stay in September 2006 was very satisfying, from the exclusive location in the country side with ample interaction with nature, to the personalised service from staff - especially when the owner's son was our driver and we felt completely safe with our children in his care when they got tired of temple touring.

We were pleasantly surprised with the attached baths lit via natural muslin filtered skylight and deadly cool rooms with fan & air-con. Furthermore, we could select unlimited items from the breakfast spread.

Besides cable TV and observing nature at our doorstep, my kids were entertained by a pool table and a watch tower with good views of sunrise/sunset, Phnom Bakheng and Angkor Balloon. (not to mention the swimming pool).

As I loved cooking, the owner gave me a live demonstration with hands-on class on Khmer food (incl. Amok, Khmer noodles, Lok Lak, etc), with some ingredients freshly picked from the garden.

It was definitely a memorable stay and, compared with a pricey hotel we stayed at previously, definitely worthwhile!"

"I remember so many good things at palm village. My kids talk about the stays from time to time. Seeing the sunset from the high building was so great. Also the staff members always smiled at us. 8 months has passed since we visited. But the pictures taken at palm village remind me of so precious experience there. Thank you for your kindness."

- Hyeja Chung, Korea

"Thanks for Palm Village that i could have a wonderful romantic candle night dinner during my 24th birthday. I believe it was a once life time experience. The swimming pool and the room are both great too. The staff is perfect! I was just like being served in a 5-star hotel! Recommend to all tourists to Siem Reap."

- Roe, Hong Kong

"We stayed in Palm Village in November '05 as part of our honeymoon. What a wonderful quaint place. We did not want to leave. It is a little bit out of the town, but a $2 tuk tuk will get you there in no time. You experience a little of real Cambodian life rather than being in the middle of the tourist area in Siem Reap. The price of the accomodation is excellent given that you have your own little chalet/cottage including a/c. The staff are great, so polite and always wanting to help. If we return to Cambodia we would come back and stay here."

- Antoinette Behan/Billy King, Irish living in New York

- Richard u. Andrea, Germany

"We stayed in Palm Village Nov 04 and had the most relaxing and enjoyable 7 nights. A perfect place to stay away from the huge 5 star hotels. This to us was better, a truly 5 star experience. The Amok fish was amazing! We wish you all the luck in the world, thank you!"

- Caroline and Gary, British

"We spent a wonderful nine days relaxing at Palm Village. The staff were amazing...so polite and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Palm Village was such an oasis to return to every afternoon after a full day of templing.... thank you Palm Village!"

- Natalie and Grant, Australia

"My daughter and I stayed with you while visiting Cambodia this year. After hot days visiting your wonderful temples, we returned to the tranquillity of Palm Village where we recharged our energy in peaceful and beautiful surroundings. Thank your for a memorable stay, all good luck in the future."
